Another fine minstrel banjo from the bench of James Hartel, of Franklin NY. This banjo is a perfect replica of a ca. 1840 banjo constructed by famous Virgina minstrel leader Joel Sweeney for his niece. Prominently featured is the ~27" scale arched curly maple neck, which meets the rim below the handmade spring steel tension hoop. Single ply 12" Boucher style rim, with wingnuts. Also features a rosewood tailpiece. A lovely sounding plunker.
