19800

We present a quirky, war-time, parallel-braced archtop put together on the Gibson factory floor using mixed and matched parts as a dealer special only in 1941. "The Gibson" script logo inlaid on top of narrow headstock, w/black paint overlay, atop a refinished 5-piece neck, with trussrod. Rosewood fretboard with "fan-style" inlays. Replaced gold Schaller tuners. 17" L7 style body with maple back/sides and spruce top, which has been stripped & refinished to blonde. Playing wear and cosmetic flaws evident, such as light surface scratches/checking. Replaced tailpiece, period pickguard, compensated bridge with bone inserts and filled-in 1/4" jack near endpin. A true player's guitar, suitable for swing, jazz or any genre in need of that strong, throaty, true archtop sound. Included in sale is a hardshell Guild jumbo hardcase. 25" scale, 17" lower bout, 13" upper bout, 3.5" depth, 1 3/4" nut width.
