RARE and well-preserved Gibson K-1 mandocello with original hardshell case. Beautiful aged spruce top with dark mahogany stained back and sides, paired with a 25" scale neck with ebony fretboard w/ original frets. Equipped with original tuners (one button has been replaced), bridge, tailpiece & "The Gibson" script cover, and nut. Finish checking throughout the mandocello, gauges and nicks present on the back of neck, to, and sides. Present on the peghead under the logo is a small diamond shape music retailer's plaque which reads: "Miles Music Store". Top has some sinkage particularly on the treble side below the bridge. A few repaired cracks are present, on the top, and sides. A bellowing, rich, sustaining wonder.
