This is one of the most highly revered archtops ever made by Gibson, and this is an early model, in the third year of production. It is 17" wide, 3/1/8" deep, and has a spruce top, and maple back and sides. It sounds incredible and has a resonance like none other. At one point, the upper half of the bridge was replaced with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and later was replaced by a non original ebony piece true to the original part. The lower half of the bridge remains original. The electronics were also changed, and now include a tone and volume knob, and a modern style 1/4" jack. The pickguard is not original. It is ebony with multiple binding and tone and volume knobs. The guitar has been refretted. The original knobs and jack are in the case. Scale length: 25" Nut width: 1-3/4"
