You are looking at a nice find indeed! This is a Fender Deluxe with 8 strings, in a walnut finish. This lap steel was originally available in 1946 and was in production until 1955. It features a volume and tone knob to control the trapezoidal "Direct String Pickup" invented by Leo Fender. It has a wide range of tone from bright to super warm, which makes it extremely versatile!
