The Emperor of guitars with incredible feel and tone. It's had a Florentine cutaway installed in the late 50s or early 60s and, by the look of the work it was most likely done by Gibson. The binding around the cutaway is in exactly the same shape as the binding on the rest of the guitar, which is stellar. The owner said he got it from his jazz guitar teacher in New York in the late 60s, and his teacher said he had the work done at the Gibson factory but needless to say, no way to prove that. There is a repair to the tailpiece hinge and two repaired cracks on the bottom bout near the tailpiece. Pickguard was made to accommodate the controls for the Dearmond Model 1100 Gold pickup. Comes with original hardshell case, with the classic Epiphone 'E' molded in velvet.
