A recreation of the 1903 A. C. Fairbanks Whyte Laydie No. 2. It is made directly from an extant example and mimics the original in every way with the exception of geared tuners. This banjo is a project that has been three years in the making. The banjos are made by Eastman Strings, Inc. exclusively for Bernunzio Uptown Music. The rim is light weight, 3/8" thick and 10-3/4"in diameter. The scale length is 26". All of the materials are as per original with maple neck and rim and ebony fingerboard. This banjo has a knot on the bass side of the neck near the 12th fret, some funny finish stains on the inside of the rim, and a teeny ding on the rim that make this item B-STOCK This particular banjo has been set up with Aquila Nylgut strings.
