A wonderful cello banjo made for esteemed musical instrument retailer John Alvey Turner by former Clifford Essex builder Sidney Young around 1930. Open back, 14" beechwood rim, mahogany neck with 26" scale, slotted peghead with engraved tuners. Deep, rich tone from the original calf-skin head, neck has a slight bow however the banjo is still very playable. Original chipboard style soft case included, with "Clifford Essex & Sons" stamp intact.
