"A" style mandolin with segmented "f" holes and raised pickguard. The "MASTERBILT" decal in the body and the peghead decal are intact but it appears that the mandolin was oversprayed. We have seen many Epiphones from this period with a finish that sometimes crystalized and the binding deteriorating. This is a very early example with a fingerboard flush to the body and a very thick top as seen on some D’Angelico mandolins we have seen. The neck is mahogany indicating that this was made before 1934. It retains an old, vintage appearance and sound.
