 0610145  Unmarked     ca. 1890s extremely ornate banjo with very fancy celluloid floral inlays in every fret position. The neck is long laminations of mahogany and maple. The peghead is an extremely unusual shape with five prongs at the top. The 11-1/8 inch rim is all metal with unusual brackets that mount in the side of the tension hoop. The rim has a wooden tone ring and fancy scalloping on the bottom edge. This banjo will require some restoration before it is ready for use. There is no makers marking but it appears Boston made,   $2450.00 - AS IS BUY ME

Appointments include the classic nickel-silver Paragon shield in the peghead, engraved floral mother of pearl throughout the neck, and a bone armrest. Like many British banjos, it features a scalloped tension hoop and concave resonator (repaired). A fine player with a 26 1/2 inch scale. This was probably an indirect consequence of the well-established business connections between England and Portugal during the 18th century based on the port wine trade. This instrument has an 11 inch wide, arched flat lace wood back, mahogany sides and pine top. Radiused fingerboard with 17-1/2 inch scale. The 12 strings tune individually from the peghead.  0711154  Cole  Eclipse Model 4000 sn. 1500    ca. 1890s an extremely rare and high grade banjolin with finely engraved pearl work throughout the fingerboard; the rim measures 8-1/2 inches across and is original black paint; it is equipped with the Eclipse tone ring and original hardware with the exception of the missing neck collar.  0710639  Epiphone  Neapolitan Style    ca. 1900s interesting, early mandolin from the house of Strathopolis. Although this instrument is not labeled, it has all of the ear marks of this immigrant maker. The neck has the characteristic multi laminations, the thick tortoise pick guard and peghead overlay are adorned with tasteful mother of pearl vines and the top is trimmed in pearl in the Greek key pattern. The neck is somewhat bowed and the instrument would need work to make it play perfectly, but it is still an interesting artifact from this pioneer builder.,   $495.00 - AS IS BUY ME

It is a Lange made banjo uke with 8 inch rim and rosewood neck and resonator. The rim is gold plated and consists of two layers of metal with ornate fretwork. The banjo is very solid but the are a few issues. The plastic in the peghead needs regluing, there is a pearloid band on the side wall of the resonator and that is deteriorating.
